Yowii ModChip: Why we recommend it over other Wii modchips.
When we first heard about this new modchip for the Nintendo Wii, we assumed it would be just like any other Nintendo Wii modchip.
When we received them, we were pleasantly surprised. Anyone that has installed a modchip for the Nintendo Wii knows that the points on the Wii are easy to solder, but the points on the modchips generally dont line up. With the Yowii modchip, the solder points line up perfectly.
They also have an install guide that shows a great soldering technique for getting an instant clean solder connection. Thats enough of a reason in itself to grab one of these babies, but it wasn't enough for the team behind the Yowii Modchip.
The modchip is also upgradeable and it doesnt rely on dvd updates. Why is this important? Well the reason most people want an upgradeable chip is to protect against a Nintendo update disabling their modchip or console. If that does happen.. dvd updates are useless because they wont work if the modchip isn't working.

Probably the coolest thing about this modchip is the bright blue LED which lights up the whole back of the console
when you do an external install. It looks awesome in a dark tv unit or at night.
