How to use WBFS and USB iSO Loader to Backup Wii games to your computer

First you will need the following:
  • a modded Wii console (with a system menu 3.2 or less). How to find your version Click Here
  • USB iSO Loader installed on your Wii

  • an SD card or Micro SD with SD Adapter Click Here
  • a compatible external USB Hard Drive Click Here
  • or
  • a compatible USB Flash Stick

Step 1 - Copy Wii game to external USB Hard Drive


  • Copy the game to external USB Hard Drive as shown in the video. Load up The Homebrew Channel and boot up USB Loader. Insert the game you want to backup into the Wii. Click on the Plus button (+) then the (A) button to confirm the install to external USB HDD.


  • After copying the game/s you want to the hard drive switch Off the Wii and unplug the external USB HDD


Step 2 - Download and Install Software


  • Download WBFS & WBFS GUI v9 package Click Here

  • If you downloaded the files seperately or are using a different GUI make sure wbfs_win.exe and the gui.exe are in the same folder


  • make sure wbfs_win.exe and the gui.exe are in the same folder


Step 3 - Connecting external USB HDD to computer


  • Plug the external USB HDD into your computer or laptop
    Windows will prompt you to Format the drive.. DO NOT Format!!! Just close that window.

Step 4 - Excuting wbfsgui.exe


  • Go to the folder with wbfs.exe and wbfsgui.exe

    make sure wbfs_win.exe and the gui.exe are in the same folder


  • Double Click on wbfsgui.exe and it should look like this:

  • *NOTE: If it doesn't load up like this make sure that the external USB HDD is visible in Windows. Also check that the "Wii Drive Letter" is correct. Then Click on the "Refresh" button.

Step 5 - Copying the Wii game/s to your computer


  • Select the game you want to copy from the external USB HDD

  • Click on the Copy button

  • WBFS will start extracting the file from the external USD HDD to your computer.
    *Note: Sometimes there is a small delay before the progress bar starts to work.

  • When WBFS has finished extracting the WBFS GUI v9 will look like this:

  • The Windows directory will look like this:

    *Note: This ISO file can now be burnt to DVD with ImgBurn or similar software.


Congratulations!!!
You have now made a backup of your Wii game using WBFS & USB iSO Loader
