TechSick offers a range of modchip installs and other console upgrades.
Our Technicians have been professionally modifying and upgrading consoles for 8 years.
We offer full phone and email support on all installs.
Below is a list of upgrades and current prices for the upgrades.
While we will try to keep these prices up to date, the game console market does change rapidly.

Xbox Modchip Installs


The Xbox console is the most versatile console, once it has been modchipped, even though it is not the newest.
With a modchipped Xbox you can do the following:
  • Play backup games.
  • Use the Xbox as a Media Center PC for playing music, movies, browsing the web and streaming online content.
  • Backup your games onto the Xbox and play them without inserting the disc (requires larger hard drive upgrade)
  • Play free homebrew games.
  • Play emulator games. These are retro console and arcade games (Atari, NES, Sega, N64 etc).
  • Play online without using xbox live.
  • Watch movies without needing to buy the xbox dvd remote.
  • Change the look and feel of the xbox menus. Choose from a range of themes and download more for free.
  • Play mp3, avi, divx and most other music and movie formats.
  • Connect your xbox and pc to transfer data and downloads.
  • Much More...





DuoX3 Modchip and software package install: $95.00

The software package includes all the programs required to use all the features listed above.
You may also want to upgrade the Xbox hard drive at the same time.

DuoX3 Modchip, software package and 80gb hdd install: $175.00

The 80gb hard drive will store approximately 20-30 games or movies.

DuoX3 Modchip, software package and 160gb hdd install: $195.00

The 160gb hard drive will store approximately 40-60 games or movies.

DuoX3 Modchip, software package and 250gb hdd install: $215.00

The 250gb hard drive will store approximately 70-90 games or movies.

DuoX3 Modchip, software package and 500gb hdd install: $250.00

The 500gb hard drive will store approximately 140-180 games or movies.




PS2 Modchip Installs


With a Playstation 2 modchip you can backup your games and put your originals away, avoiding scratches and other damage.

PS2 modchip installs range from $100 to $140 depending on the console version and modchip used.
We use either modbo 4.0 or Red Apple chips.
We regard these two brands to be the best available.



Wii Modchip Installs


With a Wii modchip you can play backups of your original games, run homebrew games and applications from disc or
sd card and play import games.

If your Wii serial number is below: LAH1016XXXX....

You have a choice of two different chips. The wiikey is better known, but no longer has software support.
The other chip is the Yowii chip. The Yowii uses Yaosm software which is constantly updated.

You can also choose one of the newer modchips although there is currently no benefit
to soldering a newer modchip in an older version console.

If your Wii serial number is above: LAH1016XXXX, but below LAH10216XXX...

Again you have a number of choices. The old way of modding these was to use a Wiikey or Yowii chip
and grind away part of a microchip inside the Wii. The old method is risky and thankfully the newer chips
can be used without any grinding.

If your Wii serial number is above LAH10216XXX....
Although there are a number of different versions of consoles with serial numbers higher than LAH10216XXX,
they all are installed with the same difficulty level, so we don't charge extra for the most recent versions.

Xbox 360 DVD Drive Flash Upgrades:


The Xbox 360 doesn't need a modchip to be upgraded.
Instead we flash the Xbox 360 dvd drive with altered firmware.

Flash Upgrade of Xbox 360 Drive: $110

Although most Xbox 360s can be flash upgraded, there is a new version that can't be.
For this version we need to read the firmware on the current dvd drive,
alter it and then transfer it to a new dvd drive.
Currently this is only required for xbox 360s with a Liteon dvd drive.


Flash Upgrade/Replacement of Xbox 360 with Liteon Drive: $160



Gamecube Modchip installs:



XenoGC modchip install: $70



The installs listed above include all of the costs involved in having your console modded.
There are no hidden charges.
All consoles are tested before any work is performed.
If we find a problem with the console, we will not proceed with the upgrade until we can confirm that you are already aware of the problem.



Game Console Repairs


We offer repairs on all Game Consoles available.
For all repairs, we will either quote you a price up front or diagnose the problem and then quote you a price.
You will not pay anything until you have accepted the quote and we won't proceed with any repairs that aren't authorised by you.

Whenever it is possible, we try to replace parts rather than repair them. This cuts down on labor cost to you.
We can repair just about any problem, but you should check to make sure that your manufacturers warranty has expired before bringing your console to us.

Prices for common repairs:



PS2 Slim laser replacement: $50


Xbox dvd drive replacement: $50


Xbox 360 laser replacement: $70


Repairs on failed home modchip installs: $20-$100
The price depends on difficulty of the repair. Failed installs are usually fairly easy to repair,
but if too much heat was used, there may be lifted traces or damaged components.
We can repair or replace components and traces as thin as a strand of hair.


Xbox hard drive replacement: $110
To replace an xbox hard drive, we need to install a modchip. this is included in the repair price.
If you choose to have a larger hard drive installed, prices are the same as listed above for xbox installs.


All modchip installs come with a 3 year warranty. (The lifetime warranties offered by many businesses actually refer to the expected lifetime of the product. The expected lifetime of a game console sytem is generally 3 years.)
Prices on Wii modchip installs vary depending on version and the modchip installed.
You can work out which version you have based on the wii serial number in most cases.
