***update*** There is now a new version of Wii called d2c2. It looks the same as the d2c but won't work with most modchips. If you purchased your Wii from May 08 or onwards, this modchip may not work for you.

If you have a D2C2 or are not sure which Wii you have, then the D2pro 5/9 wire Modchip with SPI (All versions including D2C2) or Wasabi 2 Modchip (All versions including D2C2) are the modchips you should look at. DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, Dual Layer DVD, bitsetting... finding the right recordable media and the right burner isnt always that easy. Some kinds and brands of media and recorders might work better with the Wii drive than others. D2Ckey offers support for most of them from the start, making it simpler for you. While a certain media, burner, or combination might not work properly with a certain drive, it will be easier to find a working combination knowing that d2ckey supports most of the common recordable media types.

A lot smaller than I thought, I'm so glad this was invented, I had considered installing a d2ckey myself when it first came out, and, never having soldered before, I see now how ridiculous that idea was!

Clip attaches kinda flimsy I felt, like a hard slap on the console is gonna knock the sucker off. I'll just have to be extra careful. However, even cooler that I can remove it if anything ever goes wrong.

Final note: remember to use the best quality burning media and lowest burning speed to ensure maximum results! Memorex DVD+R's at 4x speed worked best for me!
